The Kambo Experience
Sitting with Kambo in a ceremony setting is often a journey of leaning into challenge and moving through discomfort in ways that strengthen us. A session engages the whole self — mind, body, and spirit. While the process itself is fairly short, people often leave with powerful insights and a renewed awareness of their resilience and inner capacity.
“I completely understand why it might sound odd at first. The purging and discomfort are actually the body’s way of releasing what it no longer needs — physically, emotionally, and energetically. It’s not about being sick, but about cleansing. The intense part is usually short, and on the other side people often feel lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves. You’re fully supported through the process, and many find that what feels challenging in the moment opens the door to deep healing and resilience.”
“Hunter’s Magic”:
The phrase “hunter’s magic” in connection to Kambo comes from the Amazonian peoples who first worked with this frog medicine. Its origin story blends mythology and practical experience:
Mythic Origin: Among tribes such as the Matsés and Katukina, Kambo is said to have been given by the forest itself when a great shaman sought healing for his people. In one version, the shaman was guided by plant spirits to the giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor). When he applied its secretion, his people regained strength and vitality. From then on, the medicine was passed down as a sacred gift from the forest.
Hunter’s Magic: Kambo became known as hunter’s magic because of its powerful effects on the body and senses:
Sharpened senses: After a purge and recovery period, hunters reported clearer vision, keener hearing, and an enhanced sense of smell, which helped track animals.
Increased stamina: Kambo temporarily elevates heart rate and circulation, and afterwards leaves the body feeling light, energized, and alert—ideal for long hunts.
Stealth and focus: Many reported they could stay still and silent longer, enter the forest with calm focus, and be more attuned to subtle movements around them.
Resilience: The medicine was believed to strengthen immunity, ward off “panema” (bad luck, heaviness, or blocked energy), and prepare the hunter’s spirit for success.
Cultural Meaning: Calling Kambo hunter’s magic reflects how indigenous cultures wove together the physical, spiritual, and mythic dimensions of the medicine. It was never seen as just a stimulant—it was a way to align body and spirit with the forest, ensuring harmony with the hunt and the community.
Why Consider a Kambo Session?
-
A reset for Body and Mind
Kambo can help clear out what feels heavy, stuck, or stagnant, leaving many with a renewed sense of energy and clarity.
-
Emotional Release & Strengthening Resilience
The process often opens space for letting go of stress, grief, or other emotional weight, making room for calm and balance. Moving through the short, challenging experience of Kambo often reminds people how capable and strong they truly are.
-
Heightened Connection
Many describe feeling more grounded in their body, present in their mind, and connected to their spirit after a session.
While the session itself is brief, the positive shifts — improved mood, vitality, focus, and well-being — can last for days, weeks, or longer.

Our Kambo Ceremony Includes
A three-step preparation and reset: The Flow of Hapé → Sananga → Kambo
1. Clear the mind and ground (Hapé).
2. Open the vision and awareness (Sananga).
3. Cleanse and rebalance the whole system (Kambo).
In ceremony, we begin with Hapé — a sacred tobacco medicine that clears the mind, grounds the body, and brings us fully into the present moment. From this steady place, we move to Sananga, eye drops from the Amazon that open vision — not just in sight, but in clarity, awareness, and inner truth. With the mind quieted and vision awakened, we then enter into the heart of the journey with Kambo. This powerful medicine cleanses and rebalances the entire system — body, mind, and spirit — offering a deep reset and renewal. Together, these three medicines form a flow: clearing, opening, and cleansing, guiding us back to wholeness and reminding us of our strength and resilience.”
• Hapé (Rapé): Clearing & Grounding
Starting with hapé helps quiet the mind, clear away distractions, and ground the body. It creates a centered, steady space so you can enter the process with focus and intention.
• Sananga: Sharpening & Opening
Sananga follows by cleansing the eyes and opening “inner vision.” The brief sting often clears energetic blockages and heightens awareness, helping you to see more clearly — both physically and spiritually.
• Kambo: Cleansing & Rebalancing
With the mind quieted and vision opened, Kambo then works deeply through the body, bringing a full system cleanse and reset. It supports physical detox, emotional release, and often leaves people with a profound sense of renewal and resilience.
